Bought 1 of these for an Esmart. The soft start is a little lively (Esmart motor VERY powerfull), but with practise the motor will "fluff" when used carefully, while the rotor spools up. Once hit the idle up switch by mistake & had time while the machine spooled up to correct my mistake, soft start worked well in this instance & saved both me & machine. Runs cool & faultlessly with a strong 5A supply to the radio gear.
